Contacts with Other Organizations Since the referendum made national news in February of 2003, we have been in contact with a number of other universities, power providers, and experts on renewable energy. We have been contacted by Oregon State and the University of Michigan about creating similar programs at their respective universities. Ken Varner, the first chairman of RESPC, was flown down to the University of Florida to talk with faculty and students there about how to make a similar program work at Florida. In 2004 we were in touch with students at the University of Washington (in Seattle), Appalachian State University, Sewanee: The University of the South, NC State University, and many more at the Southeast student renewable energy conference held at UNC and Duke in April 2004. We have also been in
touch with Solargenix (formerly Duke Solar), NC Greenpower, BP Solar,
and a host of other experts about technology and project formation. |
