Carolyn Elfland is Associate Vice Chancellor for Campus Sevices at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Through this position, she oversees (amongst other campus units) Energy Services and Facilities Services, including the award-winning co-generation facility on campus. She is leading the commitment to turn the planned Carolina North campus into a sustainability demonstration site.

Raymond DuBose received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

He has served twenty eight years at UNC-Chapel Hill in energy services. He is currently the Director for Energy Services, which includes responsibility for campus utilities and energy management.

He is a past Chair of the International District Energy Association, a non-profit trade association that promotes district energy systems including combined heat and power.

He is an active member of the UNC-Chapel Hill Sustainability Coalition and a Registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina.

Cindy's role at UNC is to catalyze the development and implementation of sustainable policies, practices, and curriculum. Ms. Shea works with students, staff, faculty, and administrators to achieve the triple bottom line of economic vitality, ecological integrity, and social equity. Her areas of involvement include new capital projects and renovations; energy, water and materials efficiency; site protection; alternatives to the single occupancy vehicle transportation; purchasing; and education and training for all members of the University community, both internal and external. 

Ms. Shea has worked at two international research institutes –the Worldwatch Institute in Washington, D.C., and the International Institute for Sustainable Development in Winnipeg, Canada. She lived in Germany and the Netherlands for five years during the nineties monitoring and reporting on environmental technology, regulatory, and policy issues. Ms. Shea came to UNC from the Florida Sustainable Communities Network, where she advanced and reported on best practices in transportation and land use planning, urban revitalization, and ecological restoration.

Campus Energy Conservation Manager
WarrenJochem

Warren works with the Sustainabiliy Office as UNC's current Energy Conservation Manager.

He's been involved with RESPC since 2006, assisting and advising the committee with projects such as the Fetzer Gym Solar Thermal System and the Dental Sciences Building renovation.
